Write the film. Let the format take care of itself.

Industry-standard formatting, live co-writing and Final Draft export, in one tab, from page one to call sheet.

Free forever for one script. No card required.

Everything between the first scene heading and the shooting schedule.

01 / Editor

Tab, Enter, keep writing.

13 elements, from scene heading and dual dialogue to lyrics and act breaks, each a keystroke away. Character names autocomplete, (CONT’D) appears where it should, and pagination is real — page 37 here is page 37 in the PDF.

Writing for ads or documentary? Switch to the two-column AV layout. Losing signal on a shoot? The editor saves to your device first and syncs when you’re back online.

02 / Co-writing

The room, on the same page.

Co-writers edit live with their own cursors; readers leave comments pinned to the exact line. Real-time co-writing is included on every plan, including Free.

03 / Revisions

Lock the pages. Mark every change.

Locked scene numbers mean an inserted scene becomes 12A, not a renumbered mess. Each pass takes the next stock in the standard cycle, and version history keeps block-level diffs you can restore from.

04 / Production

From script to schedule without a spreadsheet.

Every plan gets breakdown reports pulled straight from the page — cast, locations, props. Pro and Studio add a shooting schedule, budget top sheet, call sheets and .xlsx export for the line producer.

Plot it first on the beat board, sketch it on the storyboard, and keep character and location bibles beside the draft so continuity lives where the writing does.

05 / Scripty · Optional

An assistant you switch on. Never one you have to.

Scripty reads the page with you: it can suggest the next few words inline (Tab to accept), pin notes to the exact line they are about, and answer questions in chat. Everything it proposes is marked in gold until you accept it.

Free includes a monthly allowance to try it; Pro and Studio are unlimited. The editor never depends on it, and your script stays private to you and your collaborators.

06 / Import · Export

Bring your drafts. Take them anywhere.

OUT
.stryx · .stry · PDF · .docx · .fountain · .txt · .fdx · report

Final Draft files open with formatting intact; Word, PDF and plain text may need a light tidy. Pro removes the PDF footer and adds distribution watermarking for the drafts you send out.

Priced for writers, not studios.

Before you start.

Is the free plan actually free?

Yes — one script, permanently, with the full editor and live co-writing. No card and no trial countdown.

Can I bring scripts from Final Draft?

Yes. .fdx and Fountain carry their own structure and import exactly; Word, PDF and text files are read for structure and may need a light tidy. Final Draft export is on Pro and Studio.

What happens if I cancel?

Your scripts stay yours and exportable. Your account returns to Free limits going forward; nothing is deleted or locked.

Who can read my script?

Only you and the collaborators you add. Scripts are private by default.

Does it work offline?

Through a dropped connection, yes. A script you have open keeps taking edits, holds them encrypted on your device and syncs when you reconnect, so a dropped signal on a recce does not cost you a scene. Opening a script needs a connection: we do not leave readable copies of your pages on the device.

Why does it cost less than the others?

Scriptory is built and billed in India, in rupees. Keeping it affordable is a deliberate product decision, not a cut-down version.
